About Michael Rudner
Growing up in Northern New Jersey, just 30 minutes west of New York City, Mike has been a sports fan since birth. His parents even have home videos of him swinging a wiffle ball bat when he was just 9 months old. Mike first started playing all types of sports when he was young, but once he figured out he wasn't good enough to be a professional athlete he moved onto the next best thing: broadcasting.
His first job came in high school as a reporter for WGHT under then Sports Director Kevin Burkhardt. A May 2007 graduate of Syracuse University, Mike spent the last 2 summers interning for SNY and WFAN. Even though he watches all the major sports, Mike's real passion is baseball and more specifically the New York Mets.
For whatever reason, Mike seems to be in attendance for some rather historical Mets games: Robin Ventura's grand slam single, the 8 run 8th inning comeback against the Braves in 2000, Roger Clemens' return to Shea Stadium in 2002, and Jose Reyes' cycle last season. Nothing would please Mike more than a Mets World Series Championship which he's hoping the team gets in 2008.
