This week’s bold prediction

by Michael - posted Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

If you haven’t heard this week’s show or even if you have and forgot, my bold prediction is revolving around the strong starting pitching and feeble San Diego offense.  I boldly predict the Mets starters will only give up three runs total during the three games against San Diego.  We shall see what happens…boys could desperately use a sweep.

Scott’s Bold Prediction

by Michael - posted Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Well Scott has a chance with his most recent bold prediction.  In case you didn’t hear it from the other night, Scott said the Mets would be in first place at the All-Star break.  It’s looking very likely that the Mets will only be a half game out of first after today so Scott certainly has a chance tomorrow of getting the first bold prediction right since Brian Schneider launched a home run against the Reds a couple of months ago.  Stay tuned for today’s recap.

Mike’s Bold Prediction

by Michael - posted Monday, June 30th, 2008

Like Mike Pelfrey, I’ve been getting some bad luck with my bold predictions lately.  I had one on the money a few weeks ago before Billy Wagner coughed it up and then Ryan Church didn’t return until Sunday so that threw off my most recent prediction.  I’m feeling confident about this week’s prediction though.  David Wright has been lighting it up since his one-day break and I think he’ll explode this week starting in St. Louis.  Look for Wright to blast two home runs and drive in eight during this four game set.

Subway Series Bold Prediction

by Michael - posted Friday, June 27th, 2008

Exciting weekend of baseball coming up…I’m really looking forward to all of these games.  Unfortunately, between myself, Scott and Ted we were very busy this week and couldn’t collaborate on a show.  So I’m posting my bold prediction on here for everyone to see.  Well not only will Ryan Church return to the lineup tomorrow, but he’s going to hit a home run in this series!  Mark it down Mets fans.

Mike’s Bold Prediction

by Michael - posted Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

In case you didn’t hear Ted revealing my bold prediction early on during last night’s show, my bold prediction for this week is that David Wright will hit a home run off Tom Glavine today.  We’ve been in a little cold streak so I hope David can get us going off our favorite former Met.

Standings:

Mike - 2

Scott - 1.5

Bold predictions and Dan Graziano

by Michael - posted Thursday, May 15th, 2008

If you’re going to listen to one show all season, tonight’s show is the one to pick.  The Star Ledger’s Dan Graziano was nice enough to join us, and let’s just say he didn’t hold back.  I loved his take on the Mets this season because I completely agree with just about everything he said.  It’s reaffirming coming from him since he’s in the clubhouse and I’m on the couch watching.  Really interesting stuff.

As far as bold predictions go, Dan says Jose Reyes will get on nine times this weekend and Scott says Reyes will lead off every game by getting on base.

Standings:

Mike - 2

Scott - 1.5

Mike’s Bold Prediction

by Michael - posted Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Since Ted and Scott were unavailable to do a show, I wanted to make sure my bold prediction got posted before the start of the Nationals series.  This whole bold prediction segment has really taken off, and I love how everyone has gotten involved.  We’ve also had ridiculous luck lately, with me getting the Santana and Maine predictions right and Scott getting the Scheneider one this weekend.  I’m feeling very confident with this prediction…in fact, I’m more confident this one will come true than any others I’ve picked so far.

Bold Prediction of the week: Barring any rainouts, David Wright will reach base at least 12 times during the series against the Nationals.

I think Wright is ready to get into a real groove, especially with three lefties starting for the Nats this week.  Look for him to have an absolute monster of a series and pick his batting average up close to .300.

Make sure to send in your bold predictions for the week to see how you rate up there with me and Scott.  I look forward to seeing and hearing what you have to say.

Standings:

Mike - 2

Scott - 1.5

Scott’s Bold Prediction: Schneider HR

by Michael - posted Thursday, May 8th, 2008

On last night’s show, Scott predicted that Brian Schneider will hit his first home run as a Met during this weekend’s series against the Reds. I like this one from Scott, because it’s definitely bold but at the same time it’s fun to root for. So far, I’ve gotten two of my bold predictions correct, and I’m giving Scott a half-point because he was so close with last week’s prediction. This also eliminates the chance of any ties. Make sure to send in your bold predictions (one a week) as we’ll keep a tally of everyone including us…perhaps there will be a reward for the winner at the end of the season. More details to follow.

Bold Prediction Standings: (Updated after Schenieder’s HR)

Mike - 2

Scott - 1.5

Bold prediction, guys of the week and misc. notes

by Michael - posted Monday, May 5th, 2008

My dad made the request that we put up the bold prediction of the week and Ted’s guy he’d like to see on the Mets this week.

My bold prediction - John Maine throws a lights-out game on Wednesday.

Ted’s guy of the week - Jason Botts, who was designated for assignment last week by the Rangers

I’ve gotten a few e-mails today disagreeing with my John Maine prediction…we shall see, we shall see. A big thank you to Phil, Michael, Walter and my grandpa for all sending in e-mails/comments today about the podcast and posts. Greatly appreciate all of them. Check out Phil’s comments down below, as he makes a few bold predictions himself.

Also, Walter and my grandpa agree there’s something wrong with Carlos Beltran. He’s certainly a player the Mets need to get rolling if they’re going to succeed this season.

And finally, some news about the show. Scott Pospishil, my good friend and long-time Mets fan, will be joining the show as an official host. So I welcome Scott aboard, as I’m sure everyone will look forward to his insight.

Check back much later tonight, actually early tomorrow, for my thoughts on the game. And keep those comments and e-mails coming.
